Later this summer, Heritage Auctions of Beverly Hills, California will auction off the original painting that served as the cover art for Edgar Rice Burroughs’s 1940 fantastical science fiction novel Synthetic Men of Mars. This beautiful piece of art, oil on canvas and 21 x 18 inches, was painted by ERB’s son, John Coleman Burroughs (1913-1979) and is part of The Jerry Weist Collection.
