New SF-horror collection: Blood Red Mars by Taylor Preston

Shhh! Don’t tell the anti-Amazon crowd, but I just purchased Blood Red Mars, a new collection of five adrenaline-charged stories of science fiction and horror by rising writer Taylor Preston, for my Kindle e-reader. Praised by Nancy Holder, four-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award, here’s the promotional blurb for Blood Red Mars:

Explore a domed colony plagued by high-tech gang warfare, rogue nanotechnology, and a virtual underworld ruled by the deadliest criminals in the Solar System. Welcome to Cydonia City. The future is waiting for you...

Unnatural Selection -- Mack's a courier for the Martian Mafia, hired to deliver a mysterious package stolen from the Syrtis Major Complex. He's having a bad day.

Dreams and Nightmares -- During her investigation of two deaths connected to a brutal Virtual Reality game, cybercop Christina Clark finds herself drawn into an underground gladiatorial deathmatch...as an unwilling contestant!

Feeding Ground -- The Grotto is the seediest pit in Tunnel Town, a subterranean maze beneath the streets of Cydonia City, and a creature of legendary status has just moved in.

The Shadow Man -- He's a dealer of dreams and nightmares, an enigmatic criminal who hides in the darkest corners of the VR underworld, eluding even the most resourceful cybercops. But he can't stay hidden forever.

Blood Red Mars -- A viral outbreak has crippled the population of Tunnel Town. Elizabeth Wilson, Chief Medical Officer of Cydonia City's Health Administration, races against time to stop the infection, but the clock is ticking, and it may already be too late.

Taylor Preston lives and works in North Carolina. He is enrolled in the MFA program at the University of Southern Maine, where he is completing a graduate degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in Popular Fiction. He is currently working on his first novel.
