Dover to publish postcards of artwork from William Timlin's 1923 children's fantasy book The Ship That Sailed to Mars

Dover Publications will publish in early 2012 a collection of twelve color postcards portraying fantastic scenes from The Ship That Sailed to Mars (1923), a nearly-forgotten children’s fantasy book written and illustrated by South African architect William M. Timlin, whose “delicate watercolors depict a dreamer's voyage to the Red Planet in a craft built by a team of friendly fairies.” Calla Editions, an imprint of Dover Publications, recently reprinted The Ship That Sailed to Mars.

  1. Awesome! They should have the postoffice make some stamps as well.
