Sci Fri: The Case for Mars by Robert Zubrin

Fifteen years ago, aerospace engineer Robert Zubrin published a nonfiction book entitled The Case for Mars: The Plan to Settle the Red Planet and Why We Must (Free Press, 1996), and issued a passionate call to his fellow scientists and all of mankind: We need a plan to colonize Mars, and we need to do it now!

Earlier this week, Dr. Zubrin published an updated and revised version of The Case for Mars: The Plan to Settle the Red Planet and Why We Must (Free Press, 2011), reiterating his challenge and reminding us of the most realistic way to reach Mars and establish a human colony there.

Founder and president of the Mars Society, Robert Zubrin is also the author of the science fiction novel First Landing (2001).
