The Outer Limits: "Controlled Experiment" starring Barry Morse and Carroll O’Connor as Martians

Here’s a little-known piece of science fiction television history: “Controlled Experiment” (1964), an episode from the first season of the classic TV series The Outer Limits, starring actors Barry Morse and Carroll O’Connor as two Martians, “Phobos One” and “Deimos,” who have been dispatched to Earth on a clandestine mission to research the peculiar phenomenon known only to the human race — murder! 

Who has not seen the dark corners of great cities, where small and shabby creatures wander without purpose in the secret corners of the night? Without purpose? There are those whose purpose reaches far beyond our wildest dreams.


Who knows? Perhaps the alteration of one small event may someday bring about the end of the world. But that someday is a long way off, and until then there is a good life to be lived in the here and now.
