Artist Vincent Di Fate to be inducted into SF Hall of Fame

Locus Online reports that award-winning science fiction and fantasy artist Vincent Di Fate will be inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame this summer. The induction ceremony, part of Science Fiction Awards Weekend, will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum in Seattle.


Di Fate has created several pieces of Martian SF&F art over the course of his career, including the cover for the anthology The Spear of Mars (1980) and the novels Double Star by Robert A. Heinlein (1979), Frontera by Lewis Shiner (1984), and Voyage to the Red Planet by Terry Bisson (1990), as well as the interior art for the novelette “A Life on Mars” by G. David Nordley (1998), the serial “An Old-Fashioned Martian Girl” by Mary A. Turzillo (2004), and the novella “Tenbrook of Mars” by Dean McLaughlin (2008).
