While this clip doesn’t feature Astro, it does include a futuristic Martian city, sand that looks like it blew out of a Chesley Bonestell painting, an underground atomic reactor, a subterranean canal, and a fierce sandstorm back on the surface of Mars. Ursa Minor!

1965 animated video clip of Pinocchio on Mars
Here’s a gorgeous video clip from the educational 1965 animated Belgian-American film Pinocchio in Outer Space. While slow in getting off the ground, the plot revolves around the space travels of a wooden-boy named Pinocchio and a friendly alien turtle named Nurtle, who are on a mission to Mars to learn about Astro, a giant marauding space whale that has been mutated by exposure to radiation.
