Haffner Press to reprint Leigh Brackett's tale The Ark of Mars

Wonderful news for hardcore fans of Martian Space Opera! Haffner Press of Royal Oak, Michigan, is putting the finishing touches on a $150 signed slipcased limited edition of Shannach — The Last: Farewell to Mars, its new $40 hardcover collection of sixteen SF&F tales written by Leigh Brackett that were originally published in classic pulp magazines such as Planet Stories, Startling Stories, and Thrilling Wonder Stories, and which includes several works set on Mars:

The Last Days of Shandakor (1952)

Mars Minus Bisha (1954)

The Road to Sinharat (1963)

Purple Priestess of the Mad Moon (1964)

The limited edition, which includes the introduction by the late SF&F Grand Master Anne McCaffrey, as well as the vintage illustrations by artists Ed Emshwiller and Kelly Freas from the original pulps, is also signed by McCaffrey and ships with an exclusive chapbook collecting two more Brackett tales, one of which is her 1953 novella The Ark of Mars!
