Actress and singer Pia Zadora makes a musical comeback

The Palm Beach Post reports that Hollywood actress and international singer Pia Zadora is making a musical comeback… at least on the east coast of Florida. The middle-aged New York native and mother of three started her career as an 8-year-old playing the role of a Martian girl in the often-mocked 1964 science fiction film Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, singing the song “Hooray for Santa Claus.”

Zadora gained national attention in the early 1980’s following her starring role with Stacy Keach and Orson Welles in the controversial and critically mauled film Butterfly, which revolved around the concept of father-daughter incest. Oddly, the film featured her singing a song titled “It’s Wrong For Me To Love You.” Zadora’s later films were largely disastrous, but she did manage to forge a successful singing career that lasted well into the 1990’s.
