Artist Mahlon Blaine, the Dürer of Barsoom

Finally got my MFA thesis approved. Here's the basic premise: The 20th-century American artist Mahlon Blaine, who created the artwork for the 1962 Canaveral Press limited edition of pulp author Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic novel A Fighting Man of Mars, is the Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) of Barsoom. Consider this comparative portfolio, with the artwork of Dürer on the left and that of Blaine on the right.
