Written by Mario Rulloni and animated & directed by Juan Pablo Zaramella, two natives of Argentina, Viaje a Marte (Journey to Mars, 2005) is a 16-minute Spanish animated stop-motion short film that has won several awards in various film festivals around the world. The film tells the tale of Antonio, a young boy who is a fan of science fiction television shows. Because of Antonio’s passion, his grandfather decides to take him to Mars... in a 1956 Ford F-100 tow truck! Here’s the trailer for Viaje a Marte, which you can watch in its entirety on YouTube.
