Table of Contents for perfect short fiction anthology would include classic Martian SF stories

Maestro John DeNardo has stimulated another excellent Mind Meld over at the indispensable SF Signal: “If you could publish a short fiction anthology containing up to 25 previously-published sf/f/h stories, which stories would it include and why?” Responses from the panel of participants include the following stories about Mars or Martians:

1. “A Rose for Ecclesiastes” by Roger Zelazny (1963) (submitted by editor Bob Sabella)

2. “The Sword of Rhiannon” by Leigh Brackett (1949) (writer & reviewer Ian Sales)

3. “Plaything” by Larry Niven (1974) (blogger Tinkoo Valia)

4. “There Will Come Soft Rains” by Ray Bradbury (1950) (author Jason Sanford)

5. “A Rose for Ecclesiastes” by Roger Zelazny (1963) (author Jason Sanford)

6. “The Man Who Lost the Sea” by Theodore Sturgeon (1959) (Nancy Jane Moore)
